Homemade Ginger Beer

Homemade ginger beer tastes even better than bought one and it’s super easy to make.

This light and fizzy drink is ideal for the colder months.

Ingredients

120g sugar

1/4 tsp dried yeast

60g fresh ginger

5 tbs lemon juice


Method

  1. Makes 3 bottles á 500ml.

  2. Combine the sugar, lemon juice and yeast in a jug.

  3. Peel the ginger and grind it finely, add to the mixture.

  4. Distribute the mixture evenly into the 3 bottles.

  5. Fill each bottle with cold tap water until 3cm below the bottle neck.

  6. Leave the mixture to ferment at room temperature for about 24h.

  7. Chill the beer in the fridge; it keeps up to 1 week.
